2019 LA Conservancy Preservation Design Award

“This visionary approach serves as a model for historic neighborhoods across Los Angeles, and proves that density and preservation can and should coexist” Award Committee

NEWS: Garvanza Project Receives Multiple Design Awards

We are delighted to announce that the A.V. Walberg Residence and Adjoining Properties is a 2019 recipient of both State and Regional level design awards. The California Preservation Foundation has bestowed a 2019 Preservation Design Award for Contextual Infill and a Trustees Award for Excellence. The project was also recognized with a Los Angeles Conservancy 2019 Preservation Design Award. The three parcel residential rehabilitation/infill project in the historic neighborhood of Garvanza works to preserve historic fabric while increasing density in one Los Angeles’s largest HPOZ’s. We are happy to be sharing our award with our wonderful preservation partners, Good Form Design Build and the Garvanza Improvement Association, who toiled for over a decade to save the existing homes from demolition. A special thanks to the Highland Park Heritage Trust for nominating the Garvanza project.
